After showing some pre-Alpha footage of Need for Speed, Jeff Hickman, Studio General Manager at Bioware Austin, came on stage to talk about Star Wars: The Old Republic. He announced that the game will be getting a new expansion this October called Knights of Fallen Empire. In this expansion, you will choose your own path. You will make decisions that change the course of the story, you will explore new worlds and meet new companions. This expansion ups the level cap to 65, and there will be a character at level 60 ready to play if you want to jump right in the expansion. Knights of Fallen Empire will be free for all subscribers.
Martin Sahlin, creative director of Coldwood Interactive, came on stage to present his game, Unravel. It’s a puzzle platformer where you play a little yarn creature that leaves a trail of red thread behind it while he walks. These pieces of yarn can be used to jump higher or cross gaps and other things to be able to move foward.
Jeremy Vanhoozer, franchise creative director, presented Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. In this game, Dr.Zomboss found a way to take away Suburbia from the plants and created Zomburbia in its place. There are 12 new battle grounds and 14 new character classes; which means over 100 plants and zombies from the past, the present and the future. If you don’t feel like playing multiplayer, you can play a solo game agains AI, or a split-screen local co-op in any mode. GW2 will be coming in Spring 2016
Samatha Ryan, from EA Mobile, introduced a new mobile game called Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. The game includes the entire Star Wars universe. It’s a mobile collectable card-based RPG and will be available on the App Store and on Google Play.
Mike Rasmussen, general manager, presented Minions Paradise a builder game made with Illumination Entertainment. In the game, you play as Phil, a minion created exclusively for this game. Phil is quite clumsy and because of him the cruise ship the minions were on sank. They are now stuck on an island and it is up to Phil to create their paradise to earn forgiveness. Minions Paradise is available to play on iOS and Android right now.
Sara Jansson came on stage to present the new Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst that shows the origin story of Faith. The game is in first person view and there’s no loading screens nor levels. You play in a city called City of Glass where the individuals have no freedom and no privacy. Catalyst will be available on February 23 2016.
Ending with the most waited for game, Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir presented Star Wars Battlefront. A variety of multiplayer modes will be available, from large scale 40 players all the way down to 8 player modes. If you don’t want to play multiplayer, there are modes where you can do missions on your own or with a friend against AI. It will be available on November 17th.
