After seeing a trailer for Quake: Champions, Tim Willits, Studio Director of ID Software, went on stage to give more information on this new game. It will be a competitive arena style first person shooter game available on PC. Each character has different and unique attributes. They will talk more about this game at Quakecon in August.
Pete Hines, Global VP of PR & Marketing at Bethesda Softworks came to talk about The Elder Scrolls Legends – A Strategy Card Game. The opening cinematic was shown to give us an idea of what the story of the game will be. There will be a full single player campaign as well as arena modes. You can sign-up for the Beta this week. Legends will be coming to Iphone, Mac and Android tablets and phones as well as PC.
Todd Howard, video game designer, director, and producer at Bethesda talked about Fallout 4‘s future. They will be bringing user mods to Xbox One and soon to PS4. They will be adding contraptions (elevators, armor racks, weapon racks, track kits, sorting machine, conveyor belt). You will be able to build your own vault, experiment on dwellers in July 2016. There will also be a Wasteland Vacation at Nuka World available in August 2016. There’s also going to be big updates for Fallout Shelter. They will add quests, new locations, new enemies, new combat system, new characters and the game will be coming to PC in July 2016.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be available on PS4 and Xbox One with remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, new snow shaders and new water shaders. You will also be able to play mods on consoles. The remaster will be in stores October 28th 2016.
Raphael Colantonio, President and co-creative director of Arkane Studios gave us a first look of their new game Prey. It will be set in 2032 and you will play a key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever; but things have gone wrong. The space station has been overrun by an alien threat and you must survive with the tools you find around the station. It’s set to come out next year on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. They will give more information at Quakecon.
Marty Stratten, Executive producer of Doom at ID Software came to give an update on Doom. He announced that Snapmap will now have free updates. These updates will include new construction modules, props, objects, weapons and items. You will also have the ability to create true single player experiences. They will launch 2 new modes next month and 3 free-for-all modes later this summer. Also next month, they will launch the first DLC pack: Unto the evil. This DLC will have 3 new multiplayer maps, new playable demon, new gun, equipment item, armor sets, taunts and more. In preperation for this DLC, you can now download and play the first level of Doom on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One for free, but only for the week.
Matt Firor, Game Director of The Elder Scrolls Online started his announcement by showing the highlights of The Elder Scrolls Online since it’s launch. He then announced that on June 23rd Elder Scrolls Online will be available in Japan. He also announced that this Tuesday, the Dark Brotherhood DLC will launch for Xbox One and PS4. Also, starting this Fall, they will launch One Tamriel. This will automatically level the players to content in the world, allowing them to freely group with anyone and eliminate the level restrictions as soon as you get out of tutorial.
It was then announced that after the conference, Doom and Fallout 4 would be available to play in VR next door. They also took the opportunity to announce that Fallout 4 would be released on the HTC Vive in 2017.
Harvey Smith, co-creative director of Arkane Studios finished off by showing a lot of Dishonored 2. The game is set 15 years after the first game; Emily Kaldwin rules the empire, watched by her father, Corvo Attano. An otherworldly usurper ceases the throne and you can play as either Emily or Corvo to take it back. He showed gameplay footage while giving information about the mission he was showing and her abilities that were used. The powers can be upgraded with the help of a skill tree. There will be many different pathways with each missions. It will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 11th 2016. There will be a limited number of collector’s edition that will include Corvo’s mask and Emily’s ring.
