E3 2016: Ubisoft conference

Before the conference started, they announced they would be putting a free game on ubisoftclub.com every month for the next 7 months, starting now with Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

The Show started with some dancers performing a dance from Just Dance 2017. After the performance, Aisha Tyler, the host, announced that the game would be coming to all video game platforms and PC in October and on Nintendo NX next year.

Dominic Butler, lead game designer at Ubisoft Paris announced Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon : Wildlands. It’s set to release on March 7 2017 on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Jason Schroeder, senior producer at Ubisoft San Francisco made everyone happy by showing a trailer for South Park: The Fractured but Whole. He invited Matt Stone and Trey Parker, co-creators of South Park on stage to talk about the story. The game picks up where Stick of Truth left off. With the in-game footage shown, we saw that you can choose your superhero class. They’ve added two elements to how you fight. You can now move during battle, the battle space is divided in squares, you can knock your oponents into props to do more damage and other characters to get another attack in. They also added the element of time. Your farts are so powerfull you can disturb the fabric of time, which lets you rearrange the turn order. They announced that anyone who buys The Fractured but Whole gets Stick of Truth for free. They also surprised us with a release date! It’s set to release December 6th

Julian Gerighty, creative director at Ubisoft Massive Entertainment talked about the future of Tom Clancy’s The Division by announcing the expansion Underground. In this expansion you will be fighting against a threat hidden beneath the streets of New York City and every time you play the challenge is unique. It’s set to come one June 28th on Xbox One and PC and August 2nd on PS4. There will also be 3 exclusive outfits free for Ubisoft Club members with the release of Underground. He also announced the expansion Survival. In it, you’ll struggle to find supplies and will need to fight to survive in the most brutal weather conditions imaginable. There’s no release date yet for this one.

Charles Huteau, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal/Fun House, Palmer Luckey, inventor and founder of Oculus, and Jason Holtman, head of publishing at Oculus VR announced Eagle Flight for VR. They welcomed three other people to play a live pvp round. They needed to capture the prey and bring it back to their nest while the other team were shooting them with something.

David Votypka, senior creative director at Ubisoft Red Storm Entertainment showed stars from Star Trek films playing Star Trek: Bridge Crew. In this VR game, you can play as the Captain to give orders, the helm to navigate, the tactician to control the weapons and shields or as the engineer to control the ship’s power levels.

Jason Vandenberghe, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal presented a trailer and some gameply for For Honor. As a knight you will drive the enemies out of your lands, as a samurai you unite your people to prevent civil war and restore the prestige of the empire, and as a Viking you seek plunder and glory after being on the edge of extinction because of war. It’s set to release on February 14 2017.

Pete Young, producer at Ubisoft Reflections announced a sequel to Grow HomeGrow Up will be the story of Bud taking his first steps without the watchful eye of Mom. You can throw down seeds and use the plants to bounce, shoot and catapult yourself to new heights. It’ll be available in August on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Antti Ilvessuo, senior creative director at Ubisoft Red Lynx, and Dean Evans, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal presented Trials of the Blood Dragon. As Antti Ilvessuo said: “Trials and Blood Dragon made baby together”. It’s out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Aisha Tyler brought Frank Marshall, movie producer, on stage to talk about the Assassin’s Creed movie that will come out on December 21st

Jonathan Morin, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal showed a trailer for Watch Dogs 2. The game will follow a member of Dedsec, a hacker group rebelling against an establishment that uses technology to take away our freedom. Everything around you can be hacked and getting into coop mode is simpler. Some gameplay footage was shown before announcing the game will release on November 15th 2016 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Jim Ryan, president, global sales and marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, then came on stage to announce that Playstation players will have access to all Watch Dogs 2 DLCs 30 days in advance.

Rebecka Coutaz, studio manager at Ubisoft Annecy, and Igor Manceau, creative director at Ubisoft Annecy presented their game Steep. It’s an open world Alpine Sports Game that will ship this December.
