Working Stiff from Kevin J. Anderson follows a zombie detective, his ghost girlfriend, his human partner and his human cop best friend. The book is a collection of short stories that consist of different cases they need to solve. Each case was completely different from the other and they were all so entertaining. There was one in particular that I loved more than the others because it also connected with my nerd side. He found himself at a Cosplaycon with the cop and needed to solve the murder of a vampire storm trooper. It was very entertaining, especially when they made referenses with the actual lore of the characters present at the con.
I’m not usualy one to read detective stories, but since this one had a supernatural twist it was quite enjoyable. I never thought I would also enjoy books that are a collection of short stories, but it is quite convenient when you don’t have much time to read a super long story. I do recommend reading Working Stiff if you enjoy a combination of supernatural detective stories!
